The case in Bonnieville, Ky
This week No Stain No Problem got called out to another small town called Bonnieville, KY, pop 257. Going to all of these small towns is starting to get annoying. I still miss the big city. All of the lights and noises can not be found anywhere and I could go to any sporting event that I could imagine. The Hawks, Falcons and my favorite the Braves. Anyways let me get back to the clean up. The women murdered in this town was Martha Burtis. She was a professor at her college and the poor woman was strangled and shoved into a box. It is such a shame because she seemed like the nicest lady who most likely gave A’s to people in her class. At the murder scene we found Burtis’s cell phone and we found a video on it by someone named Black. The video was about a missing cat named Noir Cat. With my super detective mind I remembered that the initials on the bowl of the missing cat was NC. That when I knew that all of this cat evidence that keeps showing up has not been just a coincidence. Then I remembered that I had talked to some of the local cop’s and they said that some crazy lady had been calling about her missing cat. This is when it hit me that the murderer at these three crimes has been following the cat and killing anyone who has the cat. That is when the group decided that we could do some good and actually find out who this killer is, which I was going to suggest but Billy beat me too it. Man this got me jacked up. I was going to be like my old self again. Investigating murders, talking to witnesses, having sex with Blair (that happens anyways), finding a killer and most importantly putting him behind bars. I can not wait to start this investigation.
Discovery in Fredericksburg VA.
So, the mystery has been solved. Jim Groom, a man from the digital knowledge realm who worked side by side with one of his victims. He chased noir cat around the country killing whoever was the legal owner. I can not think of a reason for him doing so, except that he is mentally deranged. I can’t say I have not seen this before with my old police job in Atlanta. A deranged man who is so emotionally involved with something that he goes crazy and kills anything that is involved with it. In most cases it is an old girlfriend but I guess Groom was crazy enough for it to be a cat. I pray for the souls that were killed over a cat, yet I do admit it is a pretty awesome kitty. Not enough to go on a killing spree for though.
Anyway, Jim Groom is the murderer. We found out that a certain wrist band was worn by every single victim which said “4Life”, and with my incredible detective mind I remembered that “4Life” was the logo for DS106 which assured everyone that Groom was the murderer. I’m not saying that without me there is no way the group would have found out Groom was the killer, but I am saying that exactly.
After questioning Groom for a while we slowly got him to crack. We used the good cop bad cop routine except almost everyone was the bad cop. This technique eventually got him to admit that he was the murderer and that he abducted noir cat. I felt so proud for the rest of the agency. I felt like they could one day help me if we decided to become an investigation firm. They would all make a couple of good patawons.
I must apologize for this but I could not get my computer to work for the video essay, it kept freezing and restarted it twice when I tried to download 4k video downloader. so I am going to have to rely on this post for my applying new knowledge video essay.
I watched Kiss me deadly and the scene where Mike beats up the attacker who was trying to kill him. I like this scene because it brings great suspense when the man is following Mike, and when he finally attacks him Mike beats the shit out of him. I also noticed that the more powerful character is on the right, (like from our reading) which is the attacker because he has the upper hand, until Mike starts beating him up then he is on the right because he is more powerful.
For this assignment I had to create a funny valentines day card. I recalled that during my radio show mine and Mia Boleis’s characters flirted. So I came up with the idea of Micheal Bretton asking out Blair. This scenario works because Ol Mick is a detective and Blair is a crime scene investigator so the two would be spending time together.
Using photo shop I created the flower backgrounds and added text to the middle. It took a while to find a good valentines background in photo shop but I finally came across the flowers.
On Wednesday night I listened to maNOIRpulators. This was a great show and I was blown away by how good the sound effects were the entire show. The rainstorm and windshield wipers that opened up the show made for a great entrance and drew me in. The footprints were also spot on and I was amazed to how life like they were. It was the exact sound I would picture for someone walking on a wood floor. I can tell the writers of The maNOIRpulators put tons of work into this.
My thoughts on the copyright laws goes right along with the video of the Disney characters. I do not think it is fair that anyone can tell me what I can use or not use and if I do use it that I will be breaking the law. I do not think it is fair that someone has to pay the copyright owner an amount of money to use their merchandise. Like it is said in the laws that choke creativity video, these laws are destroying creativity. They are making people and kids pirates and law breakers for using something that “isn’t there’s”.
What I think should happen is we meet more in the middle with the copyright laws. For example increase the fair use doctrine so more people can have access to stuff they need to be creative. The world will see that if they act more freely about the copyright laws that a lot more creative ideas will pop up.
This picture is an example of the balance design principle. I see this principle as a design that is neat looking. Something that is either symmetric or asymmetric. My example, which is the carpet outside my door to my apartment complex, is an example of symmetric. I liked this design because when I first moved in it caught my eye, and that is what I think is a purpose of symmetrical balance. For whoever sees it looks at it and thinks about how cool it looks. This is an effective design for balance.
This picture is an example of the color design principle. To understand the color principle I tried to imagine this picture with no color at all and thought that it would be hard to pick out what is of importance in it. The purple in this brings out the wine glass and the title which shows that that is what the viewer should be paying attention to. The rest is black and white showing less importance. This is an effective design for color.
The book cover for American Sniper is an example of form/function/message because the cover really does explain what kind of person Chris Kyle was. He was a true American who would die for his country which explains the American flag in the picture. It also shows Chris in his navy seal gear which attributes to the fact that he was a great soldier. The sentence below the title also explains him very well and explains what the book is about by saying he was the deadliest sniper. This is an effective design for form/function/message.
This picture is an example of the dominance design principle. It is clear what dominates in this design and it is the statement no more war. This is an effective design because viewers who are interested in that topic will be drawn in by that statement.
