This week my group and I finished up our radio show called Noir Not the Father. We had two very productive meetings this week where we wrote our script and made our recording. For the show my part is the character I have created Micheal “Ol Mick” Bretton. I play my character on the show and you are going to have to tune in to find out what happens.
When my group (Mia Boleis, Kelsey Roach, Brian Burns, and Phillip Dorch) met this week we sat around a table to create a script. We spit balled ideas and basically just kept typing, on a google docs document, the entire time we were meeting. After we made the script we ran into the challenge of recording. We all did a really good job talking into the microphone but where we ran into road blocks is when someone messed up or a funny line appeared. We figured out how to work through these challenges and finally got the recording done. After we recorded we all put sound effects into the recording and made them work with us speaking. I had a great time working with my group and I am looking forward to working with groups in the future.
Here is our final recording encase you can not tune in.
Another job of mine during the making of this radio show was to create a radio bumper. I made my bumper with the James Bond sound track because I feel it fits right in with the concept of noir.
